First off, I have a little revelation for you. I am a guy whom loves his chick lits.
It all started a few years ago when I was a few years ago when I was at Borders looking for a holiday read. I can’t remember what holiday that was, but I remember choosing a sweet looking book on being a shopaholic.
It was simply the most wonderful book I have ever read. Funny, wicked, not-too-serious, with a few gems for thoughts here and there, and the story ended well.
It was like… a fairy tale with a modern twist.
And I am hooked. I read the whole of Shopholic series by Sophie Kinsella. And then I discovered Marian Keyes. I even got to know a Border staff whom was so amazed that I love chick lit so much, that we enthusiastically discussed our favorite Keyes’ book in the store, much to the amusement of other shoppers.
To date, I have at least a hundred of these books. I had always wanted to run a site on this love of mine, but somehow my effort is never… sustainable.
Okay, I admit that it is more of me being lazy than anything, but at least I did some Squidoo lenses in the process. And got some nice mails from fellow chick lit lovers about how much they love my pages.
When I read chick lits, I always found certain phrases, paragraphs or even chapters to be exceptionally memorable. I have been dog-earing such pages (bad habit, I know) and sometimes when I re-read a book, I am always delighted to reach a marked page.
Then one day, suddenly it strikes me - why not I create site to share on these favs of mine? That would be so fab!
So Chick Literati was born. Updates are rather sporadic but existent (much to my relief!), as I do it whenever I finish reading a new book, or after re-reading an old one.
I hope you’ll enjoy these little nuggets as much as I enjoy sharing them!
With much love,
The Prince
